It's been that way for us for a little over a year. We love it. It "forces" us to use other methods of transportation... walking, riding my bike, taking the city bus, hitching rides with friends. And it has provided much needed exercise, but more importantly it has provided just what you said...opportunities to have meaningful conversations with people in our city. Too often pastors are stuck in the car back and forth to the office then never leave the office unless they have a lunch meeting with other people on the staff or from the church. Walking, riding your bike or riding the bus gives you an opportunity to stay connected with your city and the people in a way that driving doesn't. Keep taking advantage of those opportunities to share God's unconditional love with people along the way... I can relate to being a one car family. It’s been that way for us for a little over a year.
